with Older Adults

Aging is a normal process. Yet age-related physiological changes can be misunderstood and often unnecessarily limit an older adult's daily activities. At Central Park West Rehabilitation Center, we have years of experience with the issues, needs and concerns of older adults. More than half of our patients and clients are 65 years or older. Physical rehabilitation and kinesiotherapy have proven invaluable in helping prevent lifelong disability and improving function in older adults. Our therapists work with our older patients and clients to understand the anatomical and physiological changes that occur with normal aging.

The use of aquatic therapy in physical rehabilitation has been proven highly effective -- especially for older adults. Aquatic therapy reduces pain and hastens the healing process. We're well known for our aquatic therapy. Our pool is heated to 92° - 96° and equipped with both ramp and hydraulic chair lift. Our facility is handicapped-accessible with convenient, well-lit parking and easy access to both clinic and pool areas.
